MAC Basketball Tournament

The MAC Basketball Tournament is held at the conclusion of each MAC basketball season with the winner getting an automatic big to the NCAA Tournament. Since 2000, the MAC Basketball Tournament has been held at Quicken Loans Arena, formerly Gund Arena, in Cleveland, Ohio. Past MAC Tournament Champions include the 2002 Kent State Golden Flashes who advanced into the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament and the 1999 Miami RedHawks who went on to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 were the runners-up to Kent State in the 1999 MAC Tournament. In past seasons first round games were played on the campus of the higher-seeded teams, but 2007-2013 saw first round games played at the neutral site in Cleveland, However, first round games on campus sites have returned to save travel expenses and logistics for the Athletic Departments.
